FCPH Receives $22,000 Flu Prevention Grant

October 23: Fargo Cass Public Health has received a $22,000 Dakota Medical Foundation grant to implement a flu prevention media campaign and distribute hand sanitizers to 175 school buildings in 22 North Dakota counties in DMF's service area.  

"Our partnership with the Influenza Collaboration is providing critical health education and access to hand sanitization for over 48,000 North Dakota students.  We thank them for their quick response and continued efforts to prevent the spread of flu", says Pat Traynor, DMF President.

 

Fargo Cass Public Health director Ruth Bachmeier says that the grant is a great help, now that the flu season has arrived, “Hand washing is so important in our efforts to prevent the spread of influenza.  School children across eastern North Dakota are benefiting from this project”

 

Dakota Medical Foundation, Fargo, ND, focuses its efforts on improving health and access to medical and dental care in the region, with special emphasis on children.  Since 1996, the Foundation has invested $36 million to over 300 nonprofit organizations in the region.
